MMFF Executive Committee Decided to Disqualify “Yesterday, Today, Tommorrow”
Metro Manila Film Festival Executive Committee decided to disqualify the film fest entry ‘Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow ” for the four major categories of awards of the festival namely: best picture, best director, best story, at Gatpuno Antonio Villegas. In an interview with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino on December 27, he said that Regal films entry is disqualified because it violates the rules of the film festival.
“After the script was approved, iba yung lumabas, iba yung cast. Pareho lang yung title,” Tolentino said. He said he himself noticed the difference when he watched the movie on December 26. On the other hand, the regal matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde admitted that there were indeed changes to the film.
When Mother Lily learned about the disqualification, she and the film’s director Jun Lana appealed to the MMFF executive committee to reconsider their entry. With the MMFF executive committee’s decision to disqualify the movie “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” for the four major categories of awards due to huge revision of the script submitted to the committee, Mother Lily Monteverde, the film’s producer remarked that it may be a sign that she will not be joining the film fest anymore.
